On December 29, 2022, I watched The Whale and this movie pulled on my heartstrings a whole bunch of times and this movie almost made me break down so my mom asked me to find a movie to watch in theaters around Christmas and there were very limited movies playing so I looked through them to find anything interesting and when I watched this trailer I knew this was a movie for my mother because she has been trying to reconnect with my big sister buts hard since my big sister block my mom's number and both of the daughters are jerks and the only difference is one is obsessed and one is not but I thought this movie might be a movie she might connect with and this was my first ever film with Brendan Fraser and holy shit did he leave an impression on me his acting is on a whole other level. Before watching this movie while we were in the car my mom said “so we are going to go see a Rated R movie so if their is any sex we look away” and literals the second scene showing the back of his head and he makes grunting sounds and you see on his laptop is gay porn and while watching I was on the verge of crying and you see as Charlie gets worse and worse and it’s really sad. and both Ellie and my sister are total asshole to their parents but Ellie has a reason to hate her father my sister doesn’t answer probably because it's a bunch of bullshit. I like Thomater's character because he is like us an outsider not knowing what's going on and his story is sad but mom hated how they misrepresented Christians and I love all of the actors they all provide the experience of a lifetime I love all of the actors. There is this moment when Charlie says “all she talks about is you” and Ellie says “why” and Charlie says “cause that's all I want to hear about” and I nudge my mom because every time when we get home from dads house and we visited my sister and my mom says “how was she” so I relate to that moment. The Ending made me cry but it also confused me to what it means and to be honest I haven’t been this sad since “Your Name.” and among the people who hope this movie wins an Oscar.
